The following 12-Step resources are available for people whose lives are affected by another person's sex addiction, and for couples who have been damaged by this problem.
A 12-step group exists for people who have been affected by another person's sex addiction. It is called S-Anon, which is "a fellowship of the relatives and friends
of sexually addicted people who share their experience, strength and
hope in order to solve their common problems." Here is a link to the Atlanta S-Anon website, which includes a meeting list.
Nationwide there is another group for partners of sex addicts, called COSA, "a twelve-step recovery program for men and women whose lives have been affected by another person's compulsive sexual behavior." There are no COSA meetings in the Atlanta area.
There is a new 12-step fellowship for partners called Infidelity Survivors Anonymous (ISA), "a support group for individuals who have experienced infidelity-induced
trauma caused by any form of sexual betrayal in their relationships." It only has one in-person ISA meeting nationwide (in Houston) and one national weekly phone meeting.
Finally, there is a 12-step meeting that couples attend together, called Recovering Couples Anonymous (RCA). It is not limited to any particular addiction. "The only requirement for membership is a desire to remain committed to
each other and to develop new intimacy. Our primary purpose is to stay
committed in loving and intimate relationships and to help other couples
achieve freedom from addicted and destructive relationships." There are two RCA meetings in Atlanta. Both are listed on the Meeting List section of this site.
